Kekos by Dash

Since Graffiti was born there were kekos on trains, walls... "Style Wars" is a clear example. A keko or character for me is an ornament of a piece that is really Graffiti, for me, it is an ornament although it is a piece in itself, at least if you dedicate yourself exclusively to that... It is also another kind of signature or identity , you can have your own style in kekos and it ends up representing you, for example if you see a Can2 keko from afar you already know it's his because of his own style.

I started doing kekos and then I switched to letters, currently I have returned more to the characters because I want to polish my style more while I seek to have fun, escape and represent my tag.

I think there are many types of kekos, there are some taken from comics, some are completely imaginative... Some are more part decorations or are not "own creation", they are not like the ones you draw to put on the wall but all I think they can be considered kekos.

If someone wants to start in the world of kekos, I would advise them to draw a lot, the same as someone who starts with the pieces, I would tell them to look at how to mark, fill, give effects, polish the "powerlines"...
